SERVICES
The following information is intended to provide a
brief overview of the services provided by the shelter. Please contact the Executive Director if you have questions about how the shelter operates.

If you are in need of shelter, please contact the shelter about making application. The shelter is often full, so you may have to wait to be admitted, even if you meet all the requirements for admittance. The shelter does operate a soup kitchen which is available for anyone in need of a meal.

Stepping Stone Shelter, Inc. provides assistance to homeless families and individuals by developing a continuum of care system. Clients complete an initial screening interview in which an honest endeavor is made to determine need. The shelter does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, disability, sexual preference, or gender identity.

Admittance to the shelter as a resident requires:

Two forms of identification
-
No violent crime felonies
-
Must be sober to check in

Stepping Stone Shelter has a zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol. Drugs and alcohol are banned from the shelter and possession of these items on shelter property will lead to dismissal from the program.

Clients will be advised of shelter policies and are expected to stay in compliance.
Clients in residence at the shelter:

Clients are expected to search for employment daily.

Clients are assigned rotating chores at the shelter.

Clients must remain in compliance with all shelter policies or will be asked to leave.

A case manager will develop a care plan for each client. The client will meet with their case manager on a regular basis to assess the client's needs and progress. Clients are expected to meet their individual goals in order to remain at the shelter.

Clients are expected to create a budget and save their earnings so that they will be able to secure housing upon leaving the shelter.

Clients that remain in compliance with shelter policies and make progress towards achieving their goals may be able to stay at the shelter for up to 90 days. Clients failing to comply with shelter policies will be asked to leave.

Meals are served:
Breakfast is 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Lunch is Noon to 1 p.m.
Dinner is 6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Walk-ins are welcome for meals.
